Footloose is a 2011 dance film and a remake of the 1984 film Footloose which was top billed by Kevin Bacon and Lori Singer. This new version, which is directed by Craig Brewer, follows the same story of the 1984 original. Kenny Wormald plays Ren MacCormack, a young man who moves from Boston to a southern town . He later on learned that dancing and rock ‘n’ roll was banned from the town.
Footloose was released in North America on October 14, 2011 and it grossed $15.5 million in its opening weekend. Footloose was met with a mixed to positive reaction from critics.
